They them work on an independent theme relating to their own memories, experience and cultural individuality. They are encouraged to research the contextual identity and social meaning behind artists' art work and then relate their ideas to their styles, techniques and messages within their work.

In year 13 students work on a Personal Study based on the techniques and concepts of a local artist. Last year students visited Zanzibar and worked one-to one with artists in their studios. This year some artists will be working with students in the school studio.
